Club History

After starting of life in Division 12 of the Ipswich Sunday Morning League back in 1993 Ferryboat have gained promotion regularly through the divisions, winning plaudits and the occasional trophy under the management of Barry Glover. Barry led the side to the Premier Division in 2005/06 and secured the title in 2007/08 in only the second year in the top flight! After another good year in the premiership Barry has decided to step down as manager in 2009 but stays heavily involved as club chairman. It is left to the management team of Rod Ray (manager) and son Steve (Assistant Manager) to take over and assure the club remain an established Premier division side while trying to regain their premiership crown.

About Us

Ferryboat FC are a sunday morning football team from Felixstowe in Suffolk. We play in the Ipswich Sunday Morning Football League and play our home games at Walton Recreation Ground. Ferryboat FC were founded in 1993 starting in division 12, Successfully managed until 2009 by Barry Glover who saw us into the Premier division.

We always welcome good players to the club, and most players are introduced through our weekly training sessions which are held each Thursday evening throughout the season at Deben Sports Hall. If you are interested in attending contact us using the details on our 'Contact Us' page.
