26th April 2009 Our last game of the season was cancelled as Whitton could not raise a team. We will probably be awarded 3 points with them being deducted 3 points in turn.

Friday May 8th will see our end of season mash up. Starting in The Grosvenor about 7.30.

12th April 2009 With Hammo our only defender in the squad we had to play a few out of position , but only an unstoppable goal from Whitton Maypole seperated the two sides in a tight game.

5th April 2009 No better on the injury front but we battled well with our 11 only top go down 3-1 against Whitton Kings Head

29th March 2009 Really struggling for players at the moment, with 5 round the other side of the world and 7 or 8 out injured we were really down to the bare bones. Going down 5-2 at home to Martlesham was not the ideal result , but with two coming back from their travels next week we should start to get back to playing people in their true positions.

22nd March 2009. A game today which will be remembered by all for ever. Racked with our worst ever injury list and 4 players on the other side of the world (oh and one player who couldnt be assed to say he wasn't coming) we played Belstead Arms who had won their last six games. Managing to field 10 men at the start we held them , but were dealt a further blow after 15 mins when Terry Atwell crumpled to the ground after receiving a kick to the face. Tel was carried off obviously concussed and leaving behind the biggest pool of blood seen on a football pitch, so bad the ref asked us to mop it up. So now we were down to 9 men.

Then a miracle, we were given a free kick which Dan Clarke blasted into the net, 1-0 to the minnows!! Belstead Arms bounced back however with a well taken goal giving stand in keeper Jimmie Ireton (did i mention that?!!) no chance.

1-1 but doing well we were dealt another severe blow after a tackle saw Barney Collins receive a serious leg injury which held up play for ten mins and saw him carried off. Now down to 8 men!!

But all was not lost, we amazingly took the lead , this time a 30 yard free kick from James Turley.

But unfortunately 8 against 11 was not enough, and despite an already injured John Barrell coming on to boost the numbers the last hour saw Belstead run out 5-2 winners. But our display had to be seen as most teams would have crumpled when up against such a task.

Injury update:

Terry went to Felixstowe General but was then transferred by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital as his pupils were different sizes!! He was allowed home later in the day.

Barney went to Ipswich Hospital whee an X Ray revealed no break, but he has to return on Thursday when the swelling subsides.

10th March 2009 All remaining fixtures have now been arranged

8th March 2009 A rejuvenated Martlesham side put up a fight today but we held firm to claim a 3-2 victory. Two well taken goals from Ash Ellwood and one from Jonny Gooch sealed the points but a combination of good goalkeeping and good fortune stopped us running up our tally.

1st March 2009 A solitary goal from Belstead Arms was enough to win today's encounter. Neither side deserved to lose in a game dominated by both sides midfields and defences. We hit the woodwork twice including a superb effort from Danny Smith from out wide.

24th February 2009. The next month of fixtures have been arranged.

22nd February 2009 A superb result against Hadleigh who started one point behind us on the day but were on the end of a 6-0 pasting by the close. The first half saw us two up with goals from Clarke and Steve Ray, but brother Matt kept us in front with a string of quality saves. The second half saw Hadleigh capitulate as Clarke went on to get a hat trick and Sean Pugh and PJ both netted. Hadleighs only consolation could be that we could easily have had another 5  more.

Big day for Terry on Monday as he has his 44th Birthday and still going as strong as ever!

8th February 2009 Todays match was cancelled due to an icy pitch. No game next week either as Whiiton Maypole have a cup game so will try to arrange a friendly if the weathers looking better.

1st February 2009 Better conditions this week against Whitton Maypole, only snow to contend with! Mind you what a week for the groundsman to decide to forget to unlock the changing rooms. After a frantic search for him around Felixstowe it was decided that there was only one thing for it, to get changed out in the open. That sorted out the men from the boys, Wimps - you know who you are. As or the game, it was an excellent contest between two good sides. No goals at half time but we went ahead early in the second half when Steve Ray lobbed the keeper from an angle. We had chances to extend the lead but paid the price when Maypole levelled with a header from a free kick. Just a draw, but enough to keep our unbeaten run going.

25th January 2009. After a long break we travelled to Kelsale and found ourselves involved in a mud fight. Torrential rain throughout the game meant that the pitch was barely playable. Despite this we battled well and came away with a 4-1 victory thanks to a hat trick from Shaun Pugh and one from PJ Johnson. Only a goal with the last kick of the match prevented us recording our 3rd successive clean sheet but we should be pleased with the performance overall.

22nd January 2009. We have been informed that Leiston Wanderers have withdrawn from the league. Promoted after enjoying good previous seasons, they have struggled this year in the top flight. Any teams who have gained points against them so far will have those points deducted.

11th January 2009 Yesterdays game v Hadleigh was postponed due to a frozen pitch

7th January 2009 This weeks fixture has been changed by the league as Whitton KH have a cup game. We are now at home to Hadleigh RBL instead.

4th January 2009 Today's game against Belstead Arms was cancelled because of a frozen pitch

21st December 2008 A tight game up at Woodbridge heated up when they had a player red carded for a reckless tackle. Minutes later we were awarded a penalty when Shaun Pugh was brought down and skipper Steve Ray gave the keeper no chance with his spot kick. We remained solid at the back to come away with all three points which sees us leapfrog our hosts in the table.

14th December 2008 Kelsale came to Walton Rec full of confidence after thumping Whitton Kings Head 7-1 last week, but they were behind after 55 seconds when Steve Ray met a Turley corner and steered the ball in the net. Further goals from Dan Clarke and Barney Collins saw us three up at half time. The second half saw us up the pressure and we went increased the lead when PJ Johnson scored with a header from open play, and boy did he go on about it afterwards!! Clarke got another to make the scoreline 5-0 but we created some superb movement going forward, while Matt Ray and the defence were outstanding at the back.

7th December 2008 A deserved 2-1 win at Kirton was enjoyed by all today. Danny Smith put us in the lead with a trademark rocket from outside the box. After going close several times we increased our lead when PJ Johnson paced his shot into the corner of the net from outside the box. The game had a nailbiting finish after Robinson pulled one back from Kirton but we dug in and got the three points. The only consolation for the home side was that their dream of seeing the Premier trophy at Kirton Rec was fulfilled as we lined up for a team pic with it after the game.

23rd November 2008 We scored straight from the kick off with a well worked goal converted by Shaun Pugh in just over 10 seconds, but failed to master the appalling wind, snow and rain against Ascio. The visitors got an equaliser in the first half then took the lead midway through the second period. Two late goals made the scoreline 4-1.

16th November 2008 A good game today against Bramford Utd Old Boys ended with the points shared with a 1-1- draw. The visitors took the lead after 5 mins but after that we had the better of the game . Danny Smith got the equaliser with a rasping shot from outside the box and although we had several chances to win the game it was another good performance from us.

After the game we decided to go for an early Xmas beer on Friday 28th November. Probably meet in the Grosvenor at about 8pm

9th November 2008 Back to action at last, and a tough trip to League leaders Hadleigh. Thbe home side went ahead through a dubious penalty but after that we were in control, scoring three goals and having good chances to increase the scoreline by even more. A second from Hadleigh near the end set up a nailbiting finish but we held on for a thoroughly deserved 3-2 victory. Our goals came from PJ Johnson with a 25 yard thunderbolt, James Turley and Dan Clarke. A good display all round though.

The match saw the return of Barney Collins, back on leave from serving in Afghanistan. He should be back with us for good early in December and we look forward to that.

The game was the last for Matt Burt as he now sets off on his travels round the world, have a good time mate.

The final bit of news was that since the last game James Turley and Melissa Glover have announced that they are expecting a baby. It is expected that the baby will be induced on a Monday to avoid clashing with any FerryBoat games

31st October 2008 No game this Sunday as our opponents are in cup action.

19th October 2008 In the middle of a mid season break due to the fixtures and we lined up a friendly today. With 5 injured and 7 away for other reasons we drew on all our resources to put out 12 players but they responded solidly with a 12-0 victory. Highlights were 5 goals from Clarke, 3 from Pugh, Atwell was pushed up for ten minutes and grabbed 2 , Burton got his first goal for us and the prolific Hammo netted from close range after looking lethal for the whole of the first half. The last 16 words were sponsored by World of Wood, the number 1 place in Felixstowe for your home furniture.

5th October 2008 A closely fought game saw us narrowly go down 2-1 against last seasons National FA Sunday Cup semi finallists Brantham Athletic. We were closer to our best in this game than we have been over the past few weeks and the game was an advert for good quality Sunday football. Our goal came from Ross Amey and special  mention too to Jimmie Ireton who stood in between the sticks, probably his best compliment was the fact that the opposition never guessed he was a stand in!!

29th September 2008 Received an email from Barney Collins , who's missing games at the moment with the tame excuse of serving in Afghanistan. Has really got the hump, because the Taleban keep firing rockets at him while he's sunbathing!! Good on you mate and look forward to seeing you back in a Ferry shirt soon.

28th September 2008 Still looking for that elusive win to get our season going. This time we went down to Woodbridge, the last ten minutes saw us throw everything at them in search of an equaliser but in the last minute they broke away to make it 3-1 and kill the game.

21st September 2008 Despite spending much of the game putting our opponents under pressure we could not get the ball in the net and paid the penalty when Bramford Utd OB go a solitary goal in the second half earning them a 1-0 victory. Not the best of starts to the season , but if we knuckle down we should soon get back to winning ways.

14th September 2008 We start the season with a loss against neighbours Kirton going down 5-3 at Walton Rec. They deserved their win but we could have done without injuries to Hammo (concussion) Wyard (poss dislocated shoulder) and Smith (hamstring) which meant them leaving the field. Our goals came from Louis Elliston with a header from a corner, Dan Clarke with a brilliant scissor kick and Shaun Pugh who slotted the ball past the keeper after being put in by Clarke.

4th September 2008 The League fixtures are now online

31st August 2008 We made it a 100% record in our preseason friendlies with a hard fought 2-1 victory against a strong Harpers side. The first half saw us have a host of chances which we failed to capitalise on, but after going one down we rallied and scored through Dan Hammond and a James Turley penalty.

Signing on fee is now due for everyone, it will remain at £20 again this season.

Training this week will be at Deben Sports Hall 7pm - 8.30pm .

Fixtures are now out, no game next week but we start the following week with a home game against Kirton.

24th August 2008 Todays game was cancelled as the opposition were unable to field a team.

17th August 2008 California from Div1 provided good opposition today, the scoreline being 5-3 to us but both sides playing some good football. More worrying is the fact that we picked up a couple more injuries to add to an already long list, hopefully things will improve for 3 weeks time. Goals came from Dan Clarke (3), James Turley and Ben Wyard.

10th August 2008 The season gathered pace today with our first friendly v Dolphins. The game saw the first of our new signings Ben Wyard, Ross Amey and Louis Elliston. All had good games and Ben and Ross got on the scoresheet too. The game saw us win 7-0 but up till half time it was pretty close and Dolphins should do well in their first season as a team.

22ndJuly 2008 Preseason training is now well under way, Thursdays at 7pm. Other news, in the County Cup we have received a tough draw against Brantham Athletic and will have to be at our best if we are to get the better of them on the day.

PreSeason friendlies arranged so far are:

10th August Felixstowe Dolphins

17th August California

31st August Felixstowe Harpers

We will still try to fit in one or two more before the season gets underway.
